Biography[]
Partnering with Louis[]
Alderman Fenwick was left dazed and confused in Louis' whorehouse after a sexual transaction with Bricktop Williams turned violent, resulting in blood gushing from his head. As Louis saw to Fenwick's wounds, he exclaimed "Get your hands off me, ni**er," initially unaware of who Louie was. After regaining his sense, Fenwick apologized for his harsh words. That Friday, he and Louie would convene at a poker game hosted by Thomas Anderson, where Tom revealed that Fenwick had recently purchased the title and deed to the Horton rooming house on Villere Street, which he believed could be made into a sporting house and recommended Louis as a managing partner, suggesting that Louis would do it for 10%, though he was willing to go upwards of 15%.[1]

Louis attacking Alderman Fenwick
During one of their poker games, Fenwick warned Louis that the council was writing another ordinance that targeted black owned businesses. Louis was beginning to feel as if Fenwick was trying to apply pressure due to lingering feelings of resentment and disrespect by Louis' refusal of the alderman's 15%. And after the Azalea was shut down, Louis confronted Fenwick directly, reading his mind and discovering the alderman's true feelings towards Louis, who later broke into Fenwick's home intent on killing him. Fenwick claimed that Storyville was a sinking ship and that Louis was too arrogant to accept his place in the world. As Louis approached, he grabbed the gun off his desk and shot Louis twice, but he was ultimately unharmed. As he attempted to reload, Louis ripped into the alderman's chest and hanged him up for display in front of the entire town.[2]
