Anne Elizabeth "Annabeth" Gish is an American actress. She portrays Deirdre Mayfair in the AMC gothic horror drama, Mayfair Witches.

Biography[]

Gish attended Duke University, where she was participated in the Drama program, Film Studies and Women's Studies. She went on to make her on-screen debut and her first starring role in the 1986 film Desert Bloom as Rose Chismore. The following year, she starred in the comedy-drama Hiding Out, alongside Jon Cryer. From there, Gish went on to appear in various projects, including When He's Not a Stranger, Scarlett, Shag, and Nixon.

In 2001, Gish landed a series regular role in The X-Files as Special Agent Monica Reyes after David Duchovny revealed his plans to depart. She remained in this role until 2002, when the series ended, though she did reprise the role during its revival for seasons 10 and 11. Gish is perhaps just as well known for her roles in The West Wing, Brotherhood, The Bridge, Sons of Anarchy, and Pretty Little Liars. Recently, she's starred in two Netflix horror dramas by Mike Flanagan, namely The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass.
