Carlotta Mayfair is a lawyer and the great aunt of Deirdre Mayfair who manages the financial accounts of the Mayfair family. She directs Deirdre's medical care.[1]

Early Life & Career[]
Born to Mary Beth Mayfair and her husband Judge Daniel McIntyre, she is raised in New Orleans. At 17 years old, she begins attending Loyola University New Orleans. She is one of the first women to graduate from Loyola School of Law. She rides the St. Charles Street Car between her home at the First Street House and the offices where she works for 50 years until she can no longer climb the street car stairs. She has offices on Carondelet Street. In 1983, she is working for Judge Fleming.[1]
Caretaker of the Mayfair Legacy[]
Carlotta makes all decisions concerning the Mayfair Legacy and assets during the lives of her nieces, Antha and Deirdre. She writes all the checks and makes decisions concerning Deirdre's education and medical care.[1] She is the main force behind Ellie Mayfair adopting Rowan and taking her away from the Mayfair house on First Street in New Orleans.
After rejecting Lasher, Carlotta closed herself off in her Christian faith, aiming at ending the witches in the family. Carlotta murdered Stuart Townsend, a Talamasca agent, and hid his body wrapped in a rug in the attic. [2]
Carlotta conspired to murder her younger sister, Stella, manipulating their bother Lionel into shooting her at a party. Lionel was then committed to an asylum by Carlotta and Cortland, and driven insane by Lasher, who was grieving his witch. Carlotta took over the Legacy from Stella and then from Antha, who witnessed her mother's murder as a child, and ran away to New York as a teenager. [3] When Antha got pregnant with Deidre, and accepted Lasher, Carlotta gauged her eyes out so that she could never see Lasher again, and threw her off the balcony of the Mayfair house in First street.[2] Carlotta raised Deirdre as a recluse, even subjecting her to massive Thorazine injections for 17 years. The injections and neglect killed Deirdre, but only after she gave birth to a daughter. Carlotta gave her up for adoption, effectively severing all ties between Rowan and the Mayfair witches. Carlotta also killed Cortland, whom she accused of having raped Deirdre. [4] [2]
Carlotta held control of the Mayfair Legacy for four generations, fighting Cortland in court over it once Stella named him her legal attorney, until Rowan killed her for what Carlotta had done to her mother.[2]
