Dr. Flannery Gilman is an American member of Dr. Fareed Bhansali's team introduced in Prince Lestat, and the mother of Lestat de Lioncourt's biological son, Viktor. Like many of Fareed's scientists, Flannery was a doctor who became obsessed with the truth of the existence of vampires, having first seen proof of their existence at Lestat's concert. In the early 90s, when she is in her mid thirties, Flannery participates in Fareed's experiments with vampire hormones, having sex with Lestat in their facility, and confessing to him that Fareed has promised to turn her into a vampire.
Later, it is revealed that Flannery was artificially inseminated with Lestat's sperm, collected as a result of the experiment, and gave birth to a son, Viktor. When Viktor is ten years old, Flannery is given the Dark Gift by Fareed. In Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis, she assists Fareed in solving the various mysteries surrounding the Replimoids. She is noted to be one of the most intelligent members of the group of vampire doctors and scientists, and starts training her son in the practice of medicine.
She is described as having thick, long dark blond hair the color of grain, fair skin, deep-set pale blue eyes and well-balanced features.
