Biography[]

Jumping off the edge[]

Paul was confronted by Louis after he showed up in Storyville and began harassing the working girls with the word of God. Paul insisted that the lord was in his head like a family of birds, telling him to save them, and when Louis told him to leave, he refused, punching his brother, who shoved him first. Louis, in turn, pulled a blade from his cane and warned Paul to go home, which he did, but the following morning, he would confront Louis over his actions. Paul also expressed his disapproval of Grace's fiancé Levi, who was a Baptist, whilst they were Catholic. After breakfast, Louis and Paul made their daily stroll to St. Augustine, where they were greeted by Father Matthias.

Paul at dinner

Paul's hostility towards Levi continued when both he and Louis' new acquaintance, Lestat de Lioncourt, decided to join them for dinner. Then turning his attention to Lestat, Paul inquired about the nature of his and Louis' relationship, to which Lestat replied that they were potential business partners. Paul claimed that the birds told him to ask that. They also wondered if Lestat was one with Christ, which resulted in an unexpected and crude reaction from Lestat. Later, on the morning following Grace's wedding, to which Paul maintained his disapproval, he and Louis climbed up to the roof, where they reminisced for a bit and Paul asked if Louis truly thought that Levi loved Grace. After Louis assured Paul that he believed as much, Paul jumped off the edge to his death below, but not before warning Louis that Lestat was the devil and telling him that he loved him.[1]
