Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis (2016) is the twelfth novel in The Vampire Chronicles, set in between the events of Prince Lestat and Blood Communion. It expands on the prehistoric backstory of the character of Amel, revealing his origins as an ancient human, his interactions with an alien species known as The Parents and a race of constructed mammals called Replimoids, and his involvement with the creation of and the ultimate destruction of city of Atalantaya (otherwise known as Atlantis). The title is a reference to the "Realm of Worlds," the name used by the Parents to refer to the inhabited planets of the known universe.
