The Coven of the Articulate is the name given to the group of vampires who feature in The Vampire Chronicles, particularly those who wrote or narrated their own stories. The name is first referenced in The Vampire Armand as having been given to the vampires featured in the series as a derisive nickname. Vittorio, despite having written his own autobiographical novel, does not consider himself part of the Coven of the Articulate. In Prince Lestat's list of terminology, the term is clarified to primarily apply to Louis, Lestat, Pandora, Marius, and Armand. The group referred to as The Coven of the Articulate were mostly part of the short lived Night Island Coven formed after the death of Akasha in 1985. It is unclear if David or Quinn Blackwood would be included in the definition, despite being authors of books in the series.
