Biography[]

Working with Louis[]

Tom invited Louis to a poker game, where he revealed that Alderman Fenwick had recently purchased the title and deed to the Horton rooming house on Villere Street. He believed it could be made into a sporting house and recommended Louis as a managing partner, suggesting that Louis would do it for 10%, referring to him as the labor.[1]

Tom sold the Fair Play to Louis so long as he could continue to eat, drink, and fornicate on the house. Now the owner of the brightest club in the distract, Louis renamed the Fair Play to the Azalea Hall.[2]

Tom denying any wrong doing

Tom admired Louis unorthodox business mind after learning his plans to fight back against Ordinance 4118. However, Alderman Fenwick warned him that the council was writing another ordinance, though Tom argued the council wasn't the problem, with Fenwick explaining that Washington was making them choose between "win the war or f*ck the whore." Later, Tom and Fenwick were confronted by Louis after the Azalea Hall was shut down. Fenwick proposed that Louis move his operation to the French Quarter, but no one would sell a black man property there. After overhearing Fenwick's thoughts, Louis questioned if Tom sold him the Azalea because he knew this day was coming, but Tom didn't answer. Instead, Fenwick offered to buy the property back at a much lower price.[3]

Tom being attacked by Lestat

Tom met with Louis and Lestat in a private nightclub after being tapped on the shoulder by Baton Rouge, as he would like their financial support in his campaign for the Louisiana House of Representatives. Among them in the private club was the chief of police, who Louis wanted to ask about the extra police force in the Quarter. Tom revealed that the heightened police presence was due to the floaters in the ninth ward, a total of 56 bodies. And every corpse had a soft part of them lopped off, whether it be a finger, a foot, a toe, and in one case, a woman was missing her left breast. Most of them victims were former inhabitants of the Quarter, so Tom warned them not to be alarmed if police came knocking. It was then that Louis and Lestat realized that they'd been lured out by Tom so that they police could raid their home. And so, Lestat proceeded to freeze time and left a small scratch on Tom's face for his troubles. [4]

Tom agreeing to help Louis

Tom was visited by Louis and Lestat, who he hadn't spoken to in 17 years. They wanted to acquire his services to throw a Mardi Gras ball. Not only was it far too early for Mardi Gras, Tom couldn't help but notice that Louis and Lestat hadn't aged a day, grabbing a photograph of the three of them from 1910 to show Claudia. Lestat sought to be King of Mardi Gras, aware that Tom was on the Committee of Raj. Hoping to persuade an otherwise reluctant Tom, Lestat and Louis offered to replace one of his ships that took a torpedo in the rear. Tom agreed, and upon his arrival at the ball, he was invited back to the Rue Royale with the promise of immortality, but instead, he met a swift death by Lestat's hand.[5]
