↑In Pandora (19AD) Marius says he has been guarding Those Who Must Be Kept for fifteen years. Based on other dates given in Pandora, including Pandora's birth year and their relative ages, this is not possible. For him to have been turned into a vampire at forty and to be fifteen years older than Pandora (twenty five when she is ten), he would have had to have become a vampire in approximately 10 CE.
↑No specific amount of time is given indicating how long after Marius fled the Sacred Grove it took for Mael to become a vampire.
↑ 3.03.1Some dates given for the events and chronology in the Appendix of Prince Lestat and The Vampire Companion contradict the text of the The Vampire Lestat: Lestat is turned in or after October, at the age of 20, in his 21st year in The Vampire Lestat, and leaves Paris a few months later, in May 1780. The Appendix lists Magnus as having made Lestat in 1780, which is not possible with the chronology of the novel. The Vampire Companion lists his birthdate as 1760, which would make him only 18 in October 1779, and only 19 in May 1780, a date we know he has already been a vampire for several months. Therefore, Lestat's birthday is in November 1758, making him twenty in the winter of the early part of his 21st year, 1779, and not yet twenty-one in prior to his November birthday, after being stalked by Magnus in October.
↑ 4.04.14.2The dates of the events of The Lives of the Mayfair Witches are shifted slightly forward at the point of the crossover with The Vampire Chronicles.Mona Mayfair's age is consistently given as nineteen or twenty in Blood Canticle, and she is 15 when Quinn, who is 22 in Blood Canticle, is 18. This puts the events of Lasher six or seven years prior to 2002, in either 1995 or 1996, and prior to Memnoch the Devil, where Aaron Lightener's death is referenced. The events of The Witching Hour originally taking place in 1989, this places those events approximately six or seven years later in The Vampire Chronicles.
↑Some dates in the Appendix of Prince Lestat contradict the text of the novel: Fareed is made "last year" before meeting Lestat "six years before the end of the century" in Prince Lestat, but is listed in the Appendix as being made in 1986.
↑Pandora, Chapter 1: "[Armand before Memnoch] devoured the poems, he sat through the plays, he watched the brilliant new films with Laurence Fishburne and Kenneth Branagh and Leonardo DiCaprio." This places Memnoch in 1996, which is consistent with later dates given (1997) for the events of The Vampire Armand.
↑Blood Canticle, based on the canonization date of Juan Diego, is set in August 2002. It begins immediately after the events of Blackwood Farm, placing the contemporary events of that novel also in 2002.
